Stephen Whiskin, Partner
Stephen joined the firm in February 2014 and has devoted his time to improving various aspects of the firm’s day-to-day management and client focus. With an excellent accounts, operations and marketing pedigree, he has improved the experience for the clients within the firm and helped to grow the firm. Prior to joining Wayman & Long Stephen had a leading role in, amongst others, a global freight company and a high-profile global auction house based in London.
Carolyn Armstrong, Personal Assistant
Carolyn joined Wayman & Long over 11 years ago and assisted in dealing with often sensitive matrimonial matters. However, recently Carolyn has now taken over the role as Personal Assistant to Stephen Whiskin. Carolyn also organises and attends marketing and promotional events for the firm.
Paul Povey, Partner
Paul has a wealth of experience in both personal injury and litigation matters gained from his many years as a solicitor.
Phillip joined Wayman & Long in March 2014 part-time, during which he quickly developed a passion for the town and the firm. Phillip has now joined us full-time and brings an in-depth knowledge of the law with him. Phillip’s main areas of work are wills & probate, commercial and domestic conveyancing, personal injury claims and more general litigation work. Before joining Wayman & Long, Phillip worked for a large firm of solicitors in the West Midlands and studied at the College of Law, Birmingham where he gained a first class law degree.
Jennifer Denham, Solicitor
Jennifer is the Head of the Matrimonial and Family Law department and as such has a wealth of experience in all areas of matrimonial and family law.
Vivian Bunce, Solicitor
Vivan is Head of Conveyancing. Over her many years of practice she has built up a wealth of experience of all matters relating to conveyancing.
Nigel Gowling, Barrister at Law
Nigel is a Barrister who has a wealth of experience in rural and agricultural matters and an ability to uncover the real issues between disputing parties in order to find acceptable settlement options. He is also a qualified mediator and handles cases that generally involve matters such as contentious probate, partnership disputes (including matrimonial issues) and boundary disputes, however he also regularly conducts mediations in relation to commercial and business disputes.
He is regularly instructed in; Agricultural commercial contract disputes; Crop/land damage claims; Trespass and adverse possession claims; Equine contractual issues; Easement and boundary disputes; Landlord and tenant issues involving the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 and the Arbitration Act 1986; Contentious probate and trust matters; TOLATA claims; and Proprietary Estoppel.
Sue O’Brien, Legal Executive
Sue joined the team as legal executive with over 17 years of experience. Her skills will add to the high-degree of professionalism and client service we strive to provide for our clients.
Julye Magson, Conveyancing Executive
Julye joined Wayman & Long over 10 years ago and specialises in residential conveyancing transactions, of which she has an in-depth knowledge and client-focussed approach. Julye is now undergoing the Filex law course to become a Legal Executive.
Ann Turnbull, Probate Legal Assistant
Ann joined Wayman & Long over 10 years ago and specialises in private client work (drafting wills, probate, powers of attorney), which she undertakes with meticulous attention to detail.
Alex Robinson, Legal Secretary
Alex joined the firm in July as a Legal Secretary. She is currently secretary to Paul Povey and Jennifer Denham.
Carly Adams, Legal Executive
Carly has been with the firm for 4 years and had gained experience in all areas. She is secretary to Julye Magson and Vivian Bunce.
